Meet Edouard... passionate sailor who began his journey as a sailing instructor in northern France five years ago. After sailing in the Mediterranean, including Greece, Spain, southern France, and Italy, it was Greece that captivated him. Returning to the Cyclades, he leverages his in-depth knowledge of the region to provide a unique and safe sailing experience.  Since his childhood, he had the privilege of sailing with his father, an experience that profoundly shaped his love for the sea. Meet Adriana & Radu... two boat owners, passionate and dedicated people, with a great love for adventure. Together they have clocked thousands of miles becoming the Greek island tourism experts. The rates below are the prices for the whole yacht (per sailboat - NOT per person). In order to obtain the rates per person for a sailing holiday, you simply divide the rates listed below by the number of people in your party.
For example a group of 6 interested in a 7 day trip in June - season B - will pay 5470 euro per boat thus 5470 euro / 6 persons = only 911 euro per person for a 7 days yacht charter in Greece.

We offer our guests the advantage to pay a flat rate prior to setting sail, and that’s it!
After surfing the web and looking at different options for your sailing vacation, you might have noticed most of the other charter companies structure their yacht rental similarly to renting a car. Their charter rate covers the price of hiring the yacht itself (just like the car rental price covers the car itself). Excluding all other aspects/costs involved for example; fuel, toll rates, parking fees, these are costs that you are expected to cover as you go.
With similar structure, when you are budgeting for your sailing holiday, with most charter companies you will have to add on top of the charter rate, the other expenses involved as they appear. The trouble with this approach, is that for a yacht the total/ final price including the extras is considerably higher than the base rate. This makes it difficult for the charterer to figure out the total price he will end up paying (an aspect that will naturally make him worried or anxious).
For example, the rate applied for skipper services is pretty much standard for all companies (200 - 260 euro/day),however, all the other costs will vary according to many factors. For example; fuel consumption depends how long the engine will be running - more specifically on the wind conditions and distances to your favorite destinations. You might be wondering - "But won't we be sailing most of the time-why are we discussing fuel?' Please read below the paragraph marked with **
So we are taking a different approach. In order to avoid all the variables and uncertainties, we are offering the : "All costs included" combo of 350 euro/day. Our bundle includes ALL expenses associated with chartering the sailing yacht (fuel, skipper, final cleaning, etc) that will guarantee you a worry free vacation. You won't have to keep an expense account. You simply pay a one-time flat rate (350 Euro/day/boat - divided between the members of your group) prior to setting sail, and that’s it! Much easier to plan and budget for! No hidden costs, no surprises at the end of the trip.
** How much will we be sailing / motoring?Well...it all depends on the wind conditions and the distance to the next destination. So let's take for example a sail from Mykonos to the port of Paroikia in Paros; a distance of 28 nautical miles (a good average).

Depending on the situation, a one-way fee applies in order to cover the cost of the boat travelling from the base/regular embarkation point to the pick up point of your choice (fuel + rate for the day/s when the boat cannot be chartered as it will be traveling to the island of your preferred embarkation).
Thus the one way fee depends on the distance to the destination chosen and can vary from 800 euro to 1450 euro.

We had a great experience with Radu and Adriana on the Freedom. Even during our research and planning months before the prompt and details of communication were spot on. They were willing to work with our plans and flexible where they could and plenty options if not. By the time we got to the boat, everything was clear and set so it was short briefing and we were off to enjoy the beautiful waters and the quiet little islands around. Radu and Adriana had great knowledge of the area and had good recommendations at start of every day and it was just down to us to enjoy everything the area had to offer. We didn't need much but the boat was clean and well equipped with toilet and showers for each cabin. For 6 of us it was plenty of room to eat and drink and hang out during travel between the islands. What a fantastic week we had, making up a group of 6 on board of the Albatross, brilliantly skippered by Edouard. Edouard is a hugely accomplished skipper, and we all felt immensely safe and secure on the seas under his calm and controlled lead. We found ourselves doing exhilarating sailing and mooring up in the most beautiful & tranquil bays. We spent 4 nights on board with Adriana and Radu on the Freedom. They provided meticulous detail and information about getting ready for the trip and what to expect in the lead up. Their suggestions for our sailing route exceeded all of our expectations and more !! We had an excellent holiday where we felt extremely relaxed with nothing to worry about. We were taken to locations we otherwise would not have known or picked, and there was always something unique and enjoyable at each spot. Eduardo was an outstanding captain who made everything effortless. He focused on the bays and islands we wanted to see, and in high winds he smartly adjusted our route to the Small Cyclades for relaxed swimming and paddle boarding. Many times we are asked which is the BEST Greek island. Santorini and Mykonos need little introduction but a sailing holiday will offer the opportunity to enjoy many others which you will probably end up liking even more. Sailing the Greek islands is a perfect balance of seclusion and sophistication, cosmopolitan destinations mixed with tiny island, untouched by mass tourism, where you can still have a very local experience. There are literally tens of amazing islands and the best route for you depends solely on your interests. Rest assured that there are dozens of islands that fall in your criteria. Our recommendation : Considering how both Paros and Mykonos are easily accessible by plane and ferry (flying from Athens takes 40 minutes or ferries are leaving from Athens and Santorini multiple times a day), we recommend that starting your sailing experience in the heart of the Cycladic archipelago offers the best possible experience. Meal options - Where are we going to eat?On shore: Each island, has little ports and Chora's (villages) that have a variety of restaurants, traditional tavernas and bars just within a few meters from the boat. They are open from breakfast till after midnight, all priced very reasonably. Enjoying local cuisine and the islands' specialties at one of the waterfront tavernas while admiring astonishing scenery is something you'll want to experience over and over again. On board: Our sailboats are equipped with a cooker (with an oven and 2 burners), fridge and full galley equipment, so you can also cook on board while anchored in a remote cove if you prefer. Provisioning is very easy - each island has grocery stores/markets within a few minutes' walk where you can stock up the boat with your favorite food/drinks. |
How long should I plan my sailing holiday in order to fully experience the Greek islands?This all depends on your plans and what you'd like to experience but especially on how much time you have available in Greece - the more days you have on board the more islands you will be able to explore. Each day you will be visiting a new island (and you will be surprised at how different each of them are from their neighboring islands). Thus the more days you have on board, the more varied and flexible the itinerary will be and the more you will experience. As a general idea during a 7 day yacht charter you would have the chance to visit up to 6 islands whereas during a 2 week trip we usually visit up to 13 islands and so on. In order to fully enjoy on our skippered boat the magic while sailing the Cyclades islands, a 2 week sailing holidays would be ideal (3 weeks it's even better since there are 24 islands in the archipelago). However one week on board is a great idea for people with a short holiday and in Greece for only 7-10 days. And the new base we have set at Paros (right in the heart of the Cyclades) it's now possible to fit in a 7 day trip even islands that are too far away for a regular Athens-islands-Athens trip; like Santorini, Minor Cyclades or maybe even Amorgos just to name a few. |

Figure by yourself where is the best spot for swimming and them find a way to get there. Try to find out by yourself if your favorite activity is available in the area of your hotel. Otherwise, try to rent a car or wait for hours for a public bus to take you to that place etc. |
